My son was driving my F250 (big mistake) when as he says he noticed it was leaking transmission fluid. As he was driving it he noticed fluid coming out then it just stopped working.(motor was running but transmission would not pull in any gear) We towed the truck home and let it sit for about a week. Now it will start but when I try to shift it into gear it will run through the gears but there is no action. It will not engage into any gears.

Please HELP..

first need to find where leaking from . maybe line to cooler or front or rear seal . leak would need to be repaired and refilled with fluid . then if luck is on your side will engage and shift ok if did not run too long low on fluid .

 

post where leaking and somebody will guide you on how to repair .

 

Is there enough fluid in it?

 

We filled the transmission back up.
Good: no leaking
Bad: still won't shift/eengage into gear.
Any advise?

 

With the engine idling does the fluid show in the DO NOT ADD portion of the dipstick? If it does, then the trans is all done. If it is still low it may work again once it is filled.
