rear wheel hub

07 Edge with 97k started making a loud noise from the rear, turned out to be a wheel bearing. You can not replace the bearing only, have to replace the complete hub. Being a FWD model I guess I had it easy, wasn't even a one beer job. A T60 Torx bit, a couple metric sockets for the brake caliper and bracket and an 8mm for the antilock sensor, and of course a torque wrench. I read a lot of different things saying you have to change the trailing arm as well but I am trying to determine if that was for AWD models or FWD as well. Anyone else have this issue pop up?

Mine is an '08 Lincoln MKX AWD with 150,000 mi. It's been making this noise for months, and I keep procrastinating.
Now we are planning to replace it, and I want the noise to be gone before I sell it.
Is the AWD much more difficult than the FWD?
The shop estimate is expensive.
