The Importance of an Occupation after Retirement!
As we get older we sometimes begin to doubt our ability to "make a difference" in the world. It is at these times that our hopes are boosted by the remarkable achievements of other "seniors" who have found the courage to take on challenges that would make many of us wither.
Harold Schlumberg is such a person. This is quoted from Harold:
"I've often been asked, 'What do you do now that you're retired?'
"Well...I'm fortunate to have a chemical engineering background and one of the things I enjoy most is converting beer, wine and whiskey into urine. It's rewarding, uplifting, satisfying and fulfilling. I do it every day and I really enjoy it."
Harold is an inspiration to us all.
You don't need to be a Chemical Engineer to enjoy this hobby.

Lettuce not forget the importance of retirement after occupation....
I have 27 years as a post graduate laborer, plus about 7-8 as a starving student laborer. I am in the age range to get full SS at 65, 15 years from now. I will be 3 years shy of 25 years FERS pension, but that's only 3%. So I look at it as 49-50 years of work, 65 years old....time to hang it up. Will I still work? prolly. But on my terms, perhaps my antique store, mebbe in the shop - I don't see myself being idle, but I sure as heck don't see myself commuting anymore and kow-towing to anyone...

my life expectancy is 18.8 additional years. I would like at least 10...no bills, full SS, full pension...perhaps the 401K not used for a new rv...

All the while, I'll also enjoy converting beer, wine and whiskey into urine.
