390 Headers Suggestions!!

I have a 75 F100 4x4 I will be installing my freshly built 390 next weekend. I'm looking to put headers on soon and don't know which brand to go with. Any suggestion on which ones fit the best on these 4x4s?

The rule of thumb is find the ones with the thickest flanges you can. Sanderson headers offer a beefy 3/8" flange and are made with 16ga. steel and have a 3"collector. They're beefy and don't require gaskets. I've heard people recommend use of a mini-starter when using any type of tube header for heat and clearance consideration.

I have the Sanderson's and couldn't be happier. I just run a normal starter and have good clearance.

I'm leaning towards the Sandersons, is it a noticeable difference after adding the headers from the stock logs?

It's like trying to run a mile with a gas mask on and then doing same thing with it off.....you can breathe and your engine will thank you.....

Pertronix is the brand of distributor and ignition I've chosen to use. I've heard nothing but good stuff about their products on Ford fe engines. Wakes em right up!

1972REDNECK.........are you running those on a 66 Ford 4X4? I'd also like to run a nice fitting set of headers on my 75 F-100 4x4. I tried a set of early FE hipo exhaust manifolds (really liked the look) but I had frame clearance issues on the passenger side. I believe they would have fit a 66, but not sure. Looking for a set that will clear all stock items (starter, etc) without any modifications. Thanks!

They fit great they ain't blocking the starter, only thing I had to move was the brake lines bracket. I would for sure recommend them. I got em running into 2 1/4 pipe into cherrybombs with turndowns before the axles, sounds great and not to loud at all.

I have a 75 F100 4x4 as well. Looking at the passenger side it just looks like there's not enough room between the stock starter and the motor mount for the header to fit. Also, is there any clearance problem with the the dip stick tube on the driver's side? Thanks
