Prices!!!!
O.K., in the comparison of all the different makes, I've found a catagory where Ford finishes last! For a 1970 to 1980 4x4 pickup truck, used, private seller in the Denver area, Ford is by far the most expensive! I've been shopping around and calling/test driving for about two weeks now. Is it the same all over, or just here in CO?
That is because a Ford holds it's value better than the other trucks. GM and Dodge interiors just do not hold up as well. Their power train does not wear as well either. Just the way things are.

Huh. I thought that we were trying to keep that a secret to keep the prices down. Guess the cat got out of the bag. Oh, yeah, I'm getting rid of the Jeep in lue of an out right Ford, rather than a closet Ford.
UP in Minnesota, A Chebby will go probably for 10-20% more that a Ford used. It has alot to do with demand. Chebby trucks just dont last so there are fewer on the road, and harder to find.
Around here, used trucks are cheap, because everybody's bought a SuperDuty. There aren't that many older chevy's, especially anything earlier than the '80's. I guess they don't hold up well, or its a demand issue. Around here a decent used truck usually goes for around 5K, but most sell for far less.
I dont know where in minnesota you live but i live about an hour south of the twin cities and i see way more chevys than i do fords. I also see way more old chevys and hardly any old fords.
