Off-topic AC Delco Oil Filter ?

Fellow Ford owners, just curious. Since Purolator manufactures Motorcraft oil filters, I was wondering who makes AC Delco (GM) filters? Considering AC Delco offers a few crossover filters (PF-2 etc.) that fit Ford engines. Anyway, if you have an answer, please post. Also, what is your opinion of AC-Delco oil filters? They seem to have a unique design from what I've observed over the years. Whether that is a good or bad thing, is an answer I'm looking from you, my fellow lubrication and maintenence friends / enthuisasts! Thank You ... ED

Thumbs up Off-topic AC Delco Oil Filter ?

No Idea who makes them. I have had great success with AC Delco, They are one of the better filters. I have not used one on my new Ford yet however.

I think the smaller ones are made by Champion labs. I cut open one for a Honda and it was identical to the bocsh or champion. I am not sure of the larger ones though.

I agree with the Champion Labs. Atleast for non GM applications. I think for GM applications they are made by Delphi a division of General Motors. Except for the UPF (Ultraguard not Duraguard) series of filters. Heard they are outsourcing these back to Champion Labs. I bought a bunch of the PF1250 filters at K-Mart when they were like 50 cents each. A dozen filters for 6 bucks?!?!?!?!?! I had to seeing as how my wife's Explorer uses them and she does 40,000 miles a year. They seem to be pretty good filters as well.

Off-topic AC Delco Oil Filter ?

i change my oil every 3,000 miles and i never buy the so called "premium upgraded" filters. But i consider the standard motorcraft, puralators and AC Delco as 3 of the very best on the market. Especially considering the price. About $3 for the motorcraft at wally world.

There was a time when GM made all their AC/Delco parts.... remember "Keep Your GM Car All GM"?

They now shop various suppliers as Ford does. You'll never know who actually made 'em.
