If your a real Ranger fan then you know that the Ranger didn't die it just went global. In 2008 to 2010 Ford started building a Ranger pickup in Thailand. This was a small 4 dr. pickup similar to the new Chevy Colorado. This truck has been sold in Asia and South America since it went into production. Ford told us it was too close in content and price to the F-150 to sell here. As a side if you saw the Everest concept at the Beijing Auto Show it was based on the Ranger mechanicals.
I am posting this because I live in the Detroit area and in the last month or so I have seen 5 or 6 of these Rangers cruising around. They haven't had any camo to hide the identity of trucks and they do have manufacture plates. This tells me something is going on and Ford is evaluating them for our market. I have been checking my sources in the industry and no one knows anything yet. So if you know anything let us know.
