92-96 F250 Alcoas on Bricknose?

I'm working a deal with someone on Craigslist so getting reliable answers is not likely.

He has 16.5" rims now, wants to use my 16" Alcoas. He says he has an 8,450 lb (or similar) gvwr and thinks his brakes require the 16.5" rims for clearance. Does anyone know if there is a F250 or F350 that the 16" rims won't fit?

Many thanks!!

1982 was the last year for factory optioned 16.5 wheels. But they also offered 16's too. It doesn't matter. The offset can matter if you get some weird offset wheel from a different application.

Not busting *****, but the factory alcoas were first offered in 94 till 97

And YES, they will fit his truck just fine. The rear drums are only 12"(just like the 86-97 sterling 10.25s) and the front brakes are only 12.5" while the 95, 96, 97s are 13"

1982 was the last year for 16.5 wheels(steel).

I have seen a few problems with the center caps on the Alcoas. The donor truck I bought(1989) had them on it, they were the first thing I sold off it. But they hadn't installed the center caps, they would not fit over the lug nuts. I don't know if it was a stud size problem or just a lug nut size problem. The wheels fit fine, but the caps would not.

1983 up use 9/16" studs

Most likely the problem was the lug nuts. the earlier years used 1-1/8" lug nuts, the later used 7/8"

So the wheels will fit and so will the center caps, you just need to use the 7/8 lug nuts

This is the rim he has on his truck now. He wants smaller tires, I want his rims. I have an extra set of alcoas I'd be trading with him, we'll find other tires for him.

be VERY careful of his rims. The dana 70 has a slightly smaller hub and the hub hole in the rim is also slightly smaller and will NOT fit on a sterling axle
