Well, I don't know about happy, maybe not as sad as it could have been.

Still have a $400 hole in my pocket with the tow bill and all...

Was this your first sensor issue?

When my truck's EGT sensor took a dump, the dealer replaced the sensor and the DPF; fortunately under warranty, my truck does not regen as often. As a matter of fact, I have only seen it regen twice since it happened in late December. Now I carry a spare EGT sensor, 13mm wrench, and a code scanner. If the radiator springs a leak, I'm through.

Well, I can't seem to win for losing!

About noon today I stopped for fuel and when I cranked it up afterward and started down the road the CEL popped on. Pulled off at the next rest area and ran the codes and it came up P205C again, but not along with the P205E, so it's not the same sensor and there was no shut down, but it is another EGT sensor. Code pops up on every restart, and I've noticed reduced power and lower fuel economy that I can only attribute to the bad sensor.

Guess I am going to have to pony up for all three remaining sensors so they will all be new.

And to add insult to injury, some knucklehead at one of my morning stops, backed into the $80K trailer I am towing and drove off. Probably about $3K to $4K damage, and I get to pay the $1000 insurance deductible to get it fixed!!!

Well that just sucks! My previous 08 truck never ever had a sensor failure. They were all the originals when I traded it in after 5 years.

Well, someone is telling me stories or trying to screw me or the shop over.

Found the EGT sensor online, ford list price is $54.30, was told by the tech that the dealer was charging him $98 for it.

Found them online for as little as $35.84, but that doesn't include shipping.

They have been updated, 13-14 MY part number replacing the one for 11-12 trucks.

Original part # AC3Z-5J213-A, current part number is AC3Z-5J213-B if anyone else needs one. And no regular parts store offers them, only available through ford parts sources.

Kind of like under this recall for the ambulances. They revised the part.
