Mind blowing 1995 5.8...
Well for the past few weeks I have been taking my truck to work which is a 100 mile round trip mostly interstate and I have been hand calculating my mileage of the trips.... Here comes the mind blowing part... I am averaging just under 19 miles per gallon!!! Yes I said 19!! I know some of you are gonna call bull***** but you can go ahead because I know the truth and that's 19 mpg! Here's the specs of my truck
1995 f150 4x4
120,000 miles
Reg cab short box stock height
351
E4OD
3.55 gears with 33 tires and properly recalibrated speedo
The only mods that I have done to it motor wise was a basic tune up with motorcraft copper plugs gapped to .060, msd cap and rotor, ford 9mm wires, and a timing bump.
I am very thoroughly impressed in the mileage!!
My math for this tank was 13 gallons for 250 miles

Good for you!
I got 19 mpg in a couple different pickups built in this era, so this doesn't really surprise me. One of them was a 1989 GMC 1500 XCLB with throttle body injection on a 350. The other is the one I currently have, a 1992 F150 RCLB with a 302. It hasn't gotten that for a while, because the engine was just about done (excessive blow-by)
I just got done putting a fresher engine out of a 96 into it, and I am curious to see if it can beat the previous engine for mpg.

Haha sorry, couldn't resist. Yeah I'll buy that because I ran unloaded across the state and got 17+ with the a/c running for half the trip, no EGR, and low fuel pressure on the rear tank (got fault codes for lean mixture so EEC is compensating by increasing injector cycle).
I'd say if I do another tune-up and replace my failing factory-original pump, I could see 18+, maybe 19 like you.
Yeah I'm impressed too, love these old trucks

Just checked my '89 F150, 302/aod/3.55, 150K miles and it has been getting a consistent 16+ in town. Just driving it "normal" and easy. Doesn't see enough highway anymore to check that. Last time was around 18+ but that was running 70 mph and hilly terrain. I think 65 mph and level ground would get 19 to near 20. Not bad for a 25 yr old truck.
