So, I was visiting with an old family friend who asked me if I knew anyone that would want the "old farm truck"



Yeah, I'm taking it home.

It's a 55 F600 that he drove home from Cali back in 72. He figures it hasn't left the farm more that a dozen times since.

Only thing missing is the engine (y block) that is powering his home built forklift now.

He's also tossing in about 6 more doors, a beat up short box, and probably some other stuff. (he mentioned something about a cab)

My plan is hot rod/rat rod/driver. I'm contemplating a frame swap or just clipping the front and chopping the rear frame rails to get the wheelbase down where it belongs and getting the altitude down right... this will either take me a month or 10 years to get done, but first I've gotta get another project (86 Jeep Comanche) finished up. Hoping to drag the Ford home next week, get it in the shop by July 1. The owner has a 460 he was planning to put in this, I might grab it off him and hook it to a trans of some type to power it, or I know where to get a low mileage 351W for pretty cheap that I could use as well. Will see in the next month or so which one I go for.

Nicest part of this truck is there is essentially NO rust. floorboards are solid, cab corners each have small amounts of rust, everything else is straight and clean.
