The PA Chapter's "Hot Fun in the Summer Time" June 2014 Chat and B/S Thread

Hello all, took a little break from my campaigning to stop in. Had to cancel a fund raiser I had set up for this Saturday. VIP passes to the Army-Navy Veterans indoor football at the University of Pennsylvania.food and beverage included. With everyone's comments about supporting our veterans I thought it would be a good idea to help support them along with raising some campaign funds. Guess I was wrong...not one bit of interest.
My campaign manager and I have been talking about having a Beef & Beer with a car and truck show/gtg around the end of August, beginning of September. Trying to run a grass roots campaign and not take any special interest money is not the easiest way to do things. Regardless of how much complaining you hear about our politicians being controlled by the big bucks, when you appeal to the voter directly, everyone drys up. At my age you would think I wouldn't be so idealistic, but, I still believe you have to take a stand. If your going to talk it....then walk it.

Bill, it's more for my children and grandchildren. I'm on the other side of the hill, but there are to many that still have a climb ahead of them. I would like to see our state and most especially our America maintain the American dream for them and not the select few. I may be spitting in the wind, but I at least have a rain suit and umbrella.

I hear ya. I try to influence my own little corner of the world where I can, as well. That is, when I'm not laying under the truck getting filthy.

I've been working on my Vette, the control modules bracket in the fender is broke so I epoxied it back together. I had caught a curb making a u turn and broke the tab and screw that holds the lower part of the fender to the side rail. I was trying to push it back to repair it and there was something in the way, when I reached up inside I felt the module hanging and shards of plastic. I tried to take the fender off, but 2 of the screws where stripped out. I took off the inner wheel liner and worked from there to remove everything, mostly by feel. I got most of the plastic bracket parts and epoxied them together. I'll know tomorrow if it'll hold so I can put it back where it belongs. I'm also going to try and remove the fender again so I can reinstall the module and repair the tab so I can screw it back on the rail. The owner before me had an accident and took out the fender. He repaired it himself and obviously didn't put the module back correctly and stripped a couple of the screws when he put it back together.

Good evening/morning Bill, Joe & all that stop in!
I gotta say, at least you're giving it a whirl Joe... and I thank you. Our country is being ran in the ground by a bunch of idiots that only care about themselves and filling their pockets.
Have a great Wednesday and keep it safe.
