Power Steering Pump Bracket 79 F100 6 cyl

Okay, I am restoring a 1979 F-100 (6 cyl 4.9L) and I want to add power steering. Finding the pump was easy - the bracket not so much.

Does anyone on the forum have a picture of the power steering pump bracket on an F-100 6 cylinder? That would help me get an idea if I can fabricate one.

In the mean time I'm still searching for one if anyone has any ideas of where to find one.

Thanks,

Scott

Here's the illustration from the Ford parts catalog.
The illustration at the bottom of the page, "C" is the 6 cylinder bracket.
Welcome to FTE, lot's of good people here, plus a few grouches.

Mike - thank you for the picture. That's perfect. I was hoping it was one piece; it may be safer if I continue my hunt.

Redroad - I am looking to put in the stock pump. I pulled one in great shape off of a 302 but obviously the bracket will not fit. NOw that I know what I'm up against I will definately keep looking for one.

Thanks for the help.

Don't lose the spacer when you pull it

1978/79 F100/350 300 I-6: There are two P/S pump brackets.

D8TZ-3C511-A .. P/S Pump Support Bracket / Obsolete

D8TZ-3A732-B .. P/S Pump Adjusting Bracket / Obsolete

No Ford dealer or obsolete parts vendor has either bracket.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Beginning in 1978: Ford changed the P/S pump on everything (except Econolines), it has a plastic reservoir.

This pump is a different shape than the steel reservoir pump used 1965/77. P/S pump mounting brackets used 1965/77 with the steel reservoir pump, will not fit the 1978 plastic reservoir pump.

The 1965/77 P/S pressure hoses won't fit either, as they thread onto the steel reservoir pump. P/S pressure hose connects to the plastic reservoir pump w/a qwik connect fitting.

Plastic reservoir pump used well into the 1990's.

Redroad. Great pictures. At least now I know exactly what I'm on the hunt for. Thanks for the tip on the spacer too.

Bill - and thanks for the part number verification (and crushing my dream of buying them online).

One way or the other I'll find them.
