I don't claim to be an expert on tuning or anything else for that matter but....every tuner has fans and non-fans, that being said TW is generally considered among the ones with more fans than non-fans....

All this is moot if you are unsure of what you really want from a tune and tuner. To many a canned tune is perfectly acceptable and they will love their new found power "Dude feel how much power I have and it's only 'half throttle' and listen to how fired up my engine sounds and check out that smoke cloud!!!!"

Others may have more refined taste and know exactly how they want their truck to behave and depending how nuanced that is the group of tuners that can successfully meet those criteria grows smaller.

It is like wine.....or beer......sure you can grab a box of cheap wine if you want to just get hammered, but if you actually want a nuanced wine with character and fine craftsmanship clearly coming through, you have to look at some of the really skilled winemakers.

Clear as mud, right?

There are plenty of opnions, the best thing to do is have an honest converation with yourself as to what you want your truck to do well and think about how you drive it the bulk of the time.

Tony Wildman is a well respected tuner, and is considered to be one of the "top 5 guys" that provide custom tunes for our rigs.

I'd proly call him up and see what he thinks about your rig and injector choice and go from there. I've heard nothing but good about Tony Wildman.

Tony is a good guy. The free re-burns are nice too. My wife hot her chip re-burned just because she wanted to change the order of the tunes on the chip.

I did this many times in the early days, but I have always had a chip that I can reconfigure myself (F6 and Hydra allow this with a laptop connection over USB).

My personal rules for the order of the tunes: Stock is always in the first position, then a Hi Idle/Warm-up tune (good for cold mornings, jump starts, or running something that needs more power) after that. My lowest-power Tow tune is next, then for those who have a decel tune - that's between tow and the Daily Driver tune. This allows the use of engine braking one click away from tow or DD. My last tune is always the highest-powered tune (Race for many).

That's just stuff to consider.

It's easier to just drive to Tony's house and drink a beer with him while he does all the work, or bring a chip with me when I know I'm going to see him, but that's just me.

I cannot add much to this thread but this.I have had a 6 position chip for a good while.Sometimes I think.....why 6 positions,I only use about 3 and most days it stays in the one position.
Just something to think about.Good luck!
