Adding more power

What can be done to the 3.5 liter 2014 exploder to make it act a bit more like a 3.5 eco in the F150? Is there anything on the market to get another 25-50 HP that is somewhat safe for the motor?

Ford already figured that one out. Its called the Explorer Sport. Since virtually everything on the vehicle is either controlled or monitored by some type of computer anything you might do will either void you warranty or empty your wallet - or both.

tax !
Is that the normally aspirated 3.5 ?

If so, it would be somewhat difficult to make it run like a turbocharged engine unless you add a turbocharger

But, there are probably some small tuning and part tweaks on a gas engine to give you maybe 10 to 15 hp...

But not sure it will be a good return on investment...

good luck on your search !

I posted same Q on a diesel site for my 7.3. One of the contributors suggested the same tuner:

AIW 2013 Ford Explorer MYCALIBR8OR Tuning Device - Livernois Motorsports

Seems to be like the SCMT I have in my 7.3 turbo diesel

Anybody tried it, or know someone who has?

Many Exploree Sport owners have - check out the Explorer forums here

But SCT is also starting to tune for the sports and personally I've used SCT on my 6.0's with good results...

it is a normally aspirated engine, not a sport. Just want to get another 25-35 hp, enough to get out of its own way. It will never be my eco F150.

I use the Super-chip on my 7.3L and have read good things about 5 Star tuning but have no personal experience.

Once I get wife her suv and the Lariat becomes mine I will be able to provide that feedback...

Can't believe motorheads here have not used 5 star tuning on the explorer already??
