I believe they will but, when loaded heavy the centers will tend to rub. I just bought new tires myself. Wanted the 285-75R-16 but went stock. Every time I say I'm going bigger but haven't. They need spacers for sure. I like the steel ones best.
jchamb11, the 265 or 285 tires? I also run Michelin's and they are the best for miles out of are trucks so far. What's the gap between the tire's? All I have heard for years is they rub each other when loaded heavy or towing heavy. I've always run stock 235's.
That's what I thought to Franko. That's why if I ran bigger tires I was going with the steel spacers. I wanted to run the 285's just to bring my gear ratio down to 3.73 from 4.10 LS. I figured it would help MPG when unloaded.

I would love to have a more highway friendly gear ratio myself. I'm seriously thinking about re gearing to 3.73 since no one makes a 3.90 for a Dana 80. (
I have heard too many horror stories about spacers breaking. I just don't trust em.
That's why I said steel spacers. Have family and friends with them and know problems at all. Its funny, when I bought my e99 DRW you couldn't get 3.73 with LS Diff. Are trucks look to be the same except mine is tan & 4x4. Love your trailer Frank. My wife likes the toy hauler so we can carry ATV or golf cart. Did that NVK5 pcm make that much difference? I have one I never installed. It has one of DP 40 tow tunes on it. I still use the F5 so far. I want the 205/100 new injectors, we'll see.

Frank are running 265/85R16 or 265/75R16 up front on the steers? I agree with you and Chet about the 4.10 gears aren't the most friendly on the highway. Now since you have a E99 maybe you or Chet might know if it was the E99 Dana80 had to have the narrow 3.73 ring gear. Because if I recall correctly a standard Dana80 ring gear was too wide for the E99?? Does that sound right it has been a long time since I looked into gears. But it makes me wonder if that holds true if you go with a Detroit Locker or maybe just use a center section of a Late99 to '03 Dana80 ? I think when I get near 300K I will start to look into it deeper.
Now as far as using spacers on the rear I too say "Don't do it !!" Because the way the rear hub on a Dana80 centers the rim. With a spacer a the rear outer rim does NOT sit on the shoulder of the hub correctly. Due to the Dana80 being a hub piloted wheel. I think this will explain it better than I can. I'm running 265/75's on the front. Same height as the rear 235/85's
I remember reading somewhere that the 3.73 uses a different carrier than the 4.10's, so you cannot just swap the gears. IIRC
I need to know how I can change out the split rims to regular rims. They are 7.50 16 lt. Do i have to change out the hubs? 6 lug. Its my dads and im fixing it up for him. Please help me. If i can find regular tires for it.. It would not be an issue. But no luck in this area. Thanks in advance.
If you are looking for a diameter increase run a 255/85/16, they will fit on stock dually wheels an gain you a couple inches of diameter WITHOUT RUBBING. They are actually a hair bigger in diameter than a 285/75/16
