Are you based on So Cal or No Cal?

I may be interested, though we're not supposed to buy sell on this part of the forums.

Any pics or history of your SCS? Maybe start another thread on it.

Hello,
I just purchased a '73 Super camper special, and was wondering if anyone knows the part number for the anodized (ribbed) aluminum trim at the bottom of the door. Mine is damaged, and a part number might help in locating one.

Which side do you need? They're right and left specific.

D3TZ-9929076-G .. Moulding-Body Side Lower Front on Spare Tire Door / Obsolete

1973/76 F350 Super Camper Special // 1973/79 F350 Regular Cab Trailer Special except 1977/79 with Race Track mouldings // 1977/79 F350 Camper Special except with Race Track mouldings.

Note: Ford dropped "Super" after 1976.

No Ford dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any, none on ebay. Finding it NOS will be almost impossible, you may have to settle for a user, if you can find one.

Bill,

In attempting to locate some nos moldings, I seem to have run into a slight issue. The drivers side, front bed molding, D3TZ-9929077-A, seems to measure out at around 38 or so inches. Several suppliers show to have it, but all in this length. My molding measures out at around 44 3/8 in length. It seems that someone else posted a while back with the same issue, but never posted as to whether or not they found a solution. Any ideas?

If I recollect, the super campers had a longer wheel base and the front of the bed side, in front of the wheel well to the front of the bed is longer.

Yes, they do have a longer wheel base. My question was whether there might be an error or change in the part number D3TZ-9929077-A, as this part is several inches too short at 36 3/8". I found several NOS moldings thru different obsolete parts sources, and when measured, all of them came back with this same measurement.

I believe the part number is correct, but the moulding obviously isn't.

So, either Ford printed the wrong part number on the package, or the moulding fell out of the package (a common occurrence). So someone wired on a tag, then wrote the wrong part number on it.

There is another: D3TZ-9929077-B .. Left Body Side Lower Front Moulding-Use with 8' Bed.

1973/76 F100/350 Regular Cabs on the 133" wheelbase. Ditto 1977/79 without Race Track Mouldings.

Super Camper Specials are on the 140" wheelbase.

The moulding packages were two pieces of paper glued together, one side was clear so you could look at the mouldings without taking them out of the packages.

But when the adhesive dried out, the package separated, the mouldings and the clips (in a sealed plastic bag) fell out.

This was common in places where the climate was hot: SoCal, AZ, NM, NV, OK, TX etc. Especially if the moulding rack was on the 2nd floor.

Thanks again. I'll see about getting a measurement off that part number and report back.
