Was interested if anyone out there knows what Trans can be used on the 390....I can’t do the 3 speed anymore and I don’t want to spend crazy money on an overdrive. Just looking if there are any conversions out there that people have used or adapters for a 5 speed Trans or something.....<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

TKO-500/600.... no adapter needed.

"Crazy money"? That's a relative term so ya might have to get a better paying job.





EDIT: The TKO fits the stock FE manual bellhousing. How cool is that?

 

Sorry bub, but the C6 auto is about the only inexpensive swap available. The FE engine was dropped in 76, had a round top bell, so there are no easy conversions.
