95 psd fuel bowl

Sorry for the dumb question but what should the fuel bowl look like when I pull the filter out. mine had this silver disc that looked like the bottom of the filters. I am thinking it fell off one that the po had taken out but just wanted to be sure. a picture would be appreciated thank you.

So that fuel heater should be exposed and not covered with a metal plate?

The fuel heater should look like the one in the second link Phil posted, other than that one has the heater element broken loose from the base. You can get an after market heater that looks like the later pic in the first link. There is no plate over the heating element.
