Hi I was thinking of dropping a EFI 460 into a 1988 ford bronco. I can score a 1975 460 short block for cheap and was wondering if the EFI 460 heads would bolt up to the 1975 short block so that I can install the EFI 460 intake manifold. I know I can't use 1975 heads with the EFI intake manifold, won't get a good seal. Need some info before I make a mistake. Thanks guys
Should bolt up no problem. The only difference between blocks of different years was the deck height. Early ones were 10.0, then 10.3 then 10.32, (I think). That's just going off the top of my head. I think anything after 1972 is the tall deck height.
The 75 short block will be internally balanced and you'll need to use its matching flywheel/flexplate and crank spacer. Also, the pistons won't be the same as EFI pistons and hence your compression ratio will be a bit off.
