i have a rotary brand 2 post lift in my garage. its a good brand from what ive read. ive had it for 3 years now with no problems and i bought it used from a walmart service center that was up grading their equipment and seling off their old stuff. my father has a 4 post lift ive use that as long as i can rember. both have their good points but i like my 2 post better because i can do more things with it like pulling bodies off and like im getting ready to do is take an engine out the bottom of a aveo, just drop the whole cradle out. I was lucky that my garage had a thick enough floor to be able to support a 2 post. if u have a thinner floor unless u want to do some serious work a 4 post may be the ticket

We have two lifts at work at my station. The vans are 9-10k ish and the larger box ambulances can push 15k and they lift them too.

The Escapes and Prius don't challenge the lifts too terribly.
