Glowshift 3 in 1 gauge dimmer question

For those of you that have installed Glowshift's gauges, they don't recommend tying the 'Orange' dimmer wire into the dimmer wheel circuit.
NOTE: Do not connect the orange wire to a dimmer wheel. This will cause the gauge lighting to flicker. I'd like to know the location of the headlight wire that I need to tap into so the gauge will dim by design by 30% when the headlights activate either manually or automatically. Thanks in advance. g

Can't you just pull the light switch out and grab the light power source from there?

Orange Wire (Optional)

Connect the orange wire to your positive 12 volt headlamp source wire to dim the gauges while
operating at night.

Short of pulling the dash out, does the light switch plate pop off?
