OT- Check out my new work ride!!

My new Ford! QRV59 (Quick Response Vehicle) Station 59 at Miami International Airport. Its a 2013 Ford F550 Rosenbauer Airwolf 2
It has an airbag system. There are 3 settings. The lower setting allows us to get into the multiple garages on the airport grounds so we can fight car fires.
It has a 250 gpm Darley fire pump. It carries 300 gallons of water, 40 gallons of foam and 450 lbs of Purple K (Dry Chemical) The bumper turret flows 95 gpm so we are out in 3 minutes. We respond to aircraft emergencies, handle fire alarm ringing calls, get people out of stuck elevators and we are last out on medical calls. It came with the jaws of life (battery operated) but they will be placed on another unit. Enjoy the pics!!

Awesome piece of equipment. Any idea what that unit, as equipped, set the taxpayers back?

And most agencies require backup plans in place prior to taking such units out of service,,,,,,,,for service. It can get complicated.

Yes I know ... Time restraints are the sad part . A unit can only be down for X amount of time for maint. . Repairs throw my locals out of sink ! Slim budgets , no back up plan !

Now that is one serious cockpit. How long is the training course to learn how to operate that vehicle?

Ross, you are correct it is an infrared camera. Helps to check out hot brakes or hot spots in cargo holds. Usually the big boys (foam trucks) do the check outs of the big aircraft. There is a second camera on the truck too.
