Our currrent QRV will be the spare. MIA is an index E airport and requires a certain # of ARFF vehicles to be in service at all times. If not, the index could drop and less planes will be allowed to take-off and land. That won't be allowed to happen so we usually have a lot of spares.

Joe, the truck is very similar to our current vehicle so the training was only a few hours. We do have quite a few drivers so they are still working on getting everyone certified. I did take the class to learn how to operate the truck although I am the officer and not a certified driver. I really don't have the room to reach over and grab the joystick to operate the bumper turret especially when they install the computer.

I wish it could. One of our firefighters is a pilot and is rated to fly 737's so he could do it!!

Wow, that's an impressive rig!

How fun to get some new toys. I'm sure with a unit like that its one of the weird things where you want to play with it and utilize it but at the same time you hope you never have too.

My company truck is 9 years old with 285,000 miles (hard miles).

Very true Bobby! The airport bought all new crash trucks too! Total tab for all the trucks was 4 mil. Thats a lot of miles on your work truck!! Our current QRV is 10 years old.

Awesome Keith. I am just now teaching my 12 year old to drive the Bronk.
He is even now bugging me to take him out. He want's to be an Alaska
State Trooper because they have so many cool toys to operate. I showed him the cockpit of this rig and he loved it. The Troopers ain't got anything like that. Life saveing is a wonderful thing and gets better all the time.
Kudos to you all for getting such an apparatus. Use it well.

Nice ride, Keith. Hope you get to act like the Maytag Repairman.

And I still like your other ride better...
