New 61 owner - looking for a few parts

Hi,

Been lurking for a while and reading. Finally jumped on a 61 Unibody project last weekend and I'm looking for a few things for it. I'm located in SoCal (San Diego)

Need
Tailgate and all hardware for it
Front Bumper

Have you all replaced hood hinges? They work on the truck but are pretty sloppy / wobbly. Thought they would be fairly easy to find, but have looked and haven't found anything.

Thanks-

Ron

Hinges are a known issue with these pickups by now.. Several vendors have them afaik. Mac's, Dennis Carpenter, etc. they seem decent enough quality. You probably know this, but if not - Pay particular attention that the hood latch and safety catch mechanism is clean, aligned, straightened, lubricated and operates correctly. Lots of highway speed hood-flips with these older pickups, something to look out for.

Thank you - I checked MACs - $86 per hinge, LMC looks like they have em as well at 59.95 each. Wonder what the difference is for the price delta? I hear you on keeping the hood down, it will be a while before it's on the highway. Air Ride being done next week...and then..and then...

You might also try Flashback F-100's for good used parts. Phone number 336-421-3979 or web site Flashback F100's - Home or e-mail plcthom@aol.com. He has good used hinges. His name is Tom

I'd check with FTE member gangstakr for the hinges and front bumper. He lives about 100 miles N of San Diego in Hemet. Flashback F-100's is located in Reidsville NC

The Uni tailgate is repro'd by Carpenter (DC), the front bumper is the same 1961/63 F100/350, hood hinges are the same: 1961/66 F100/1100.

If DC has the tailgate, most likely so will NPD (Ventura), Blue Oval Truck Parts (Anaheim), Truck & Car Shop (Orange), C & G Ford Parts (Escondido).

You can whiz to these SoCal repro parts sellers locations and pick the part up, instead of paying shipping charges from DC in Concord NC

I can help you with a tail gate, It is complete with hardware, but it does have some rust, nothing structural.
