70 grille inserts

I have a 70 grille on my 71 f100, not done by me, and the inserts I have now are in rough shape. One is okay, but the other is missing plastic from the checker board type pattern. I know LMC truck has some reproductions but $80 for an insert isn't really in my budget for this truck at the moment, and I havent really seen any recently on Ebay, and the junk yards around here suck when it comes to this generation truck. Anyone of any other catalogs or places who would make some reproductions?

Unbroken ones show up in the yards sometimes. Post up a WTB in the parts section of FTE.

Alternatively, check the other vendors like NPD, Mac's, BOTP. They'll still range around $70 or so new.

There's always patience and Ebay....

Which type of 1970 grille inserts does it have? 1970: There are two different grille frames, two different types of grille inserts.

Originally, the 1970 grille frame (before serial number J30,001) used two inserts that are right and left specific.

Later on (from serial number J30,001), Ford replaced this grille frame with another, the inserts it uses are the same right and left.

You have to match the replacement grille inserts to what you have now, because the two different frames have the grille insert mounting tabs located in two different places.

If LMC has the inserts, which type are they? And if LMC has them, so will everyone else, but LMC is usually the cheapest, because they sell cheap made in China crap!
