Carb tag images needed...

I need two REALLY good images of a carburetor ID tag. Prefer 80-86 4.9l, 5.0l or 5.8l. One photo would be of the whole carb with the tag visible, the other would be a close up of the tag itself (use the macro or super macro button on your camera). Images must be in focus and the close up must show the ID number clearly. I need them for use in our new 80-96 parts catalog for a new section dealing with carb rebuild kits and parts.
I need these by Thursday.
Submissions can be sent to my email address. Photographer must give me full rights to use the images. The owner of the images chosen will get an NPD T-Shirt and can koozie as Thanks!

Please do. I'll consider any help in this short hour. Catalog is due to printer and the photos I was waiting on were not of good enough quality to print. Hence my last minute plea for help.

Scott

Scott - Pics sent via email of a 4180.

And, by the way, welcome to FTE. NPD gets mentioned frequently here.

Thanks to Gary I have some great images of a Holly 4180. If anyone has a different carb they can photo I can still use it. I'll give multiple awards if I use more than one person's photo.
Thanks,
Scott

Also, thanks for the welcome. I've lurked here for years when I'm looking for info. Just not enough time in the day to read everything that gets posted here and on other Forums. I wish I could but that would consume my day and I wouldn't get anything done around here!

Welcome. Hope you can use the ones I sent, but the offer stands to use a modern DSLR and "stage" the pics if need be.

As for not getting anything done, I'd hate to think how many hours some of us spend here.

Apologies!

5280 - I apologize! It just dawned on me that both the 460 and 351HO use the 4180 carb. You had already said you would send the pics tonight and I jumped in and did it before you. I am truly sorry.

In my defense, I thought I had a 2150 with the tag, but I don't. Instead, while I was looking I found the 4180. And, w/o thinking I took the pics and sent them in.

I'll ship you the shirt and koozie when they come in if you'll PM me your address.

If 5280 sends me some pics tomorrow I'll send him a TS and Koozie too.
I would still like to have a 2v photographed.

Doncha have any Ford truck parts catalogs?

1980 and later: There is no way to look up carburetor parts if the tag is missing (and many of them are), as there are no carb application charts like there were prior to 1980.

If the tag is missing, the only way to get the tag number, then use it to get the specific part list, is from the Calibration Code Parts List Charts. Happy hunting, because there are 713 different lists!

I could see having carb parts available for 1961/79's, but 1980 and later will be a confusing mish mash.

For example, 1962/74 Auto-Lite/Motorcraft 2100 series carb kit is the same. 1975/79: There are five different carb kits. 1980 and later.

Gary: NPD is an FTE sponsor.

Pics: 1968/72 similar to 1973/79, which uses the same tag as 1980/89.

Bill - if he asks, you could e-mail him those pictures and they would come out lots clearer; the software here reduces the quality of images uploaded to the server and this is most noticeable in text documents like those.

It would even be possible to send him pdf files of just those pages but I don't remember how to do it in that software plugin you're running (I'd have to connect to your computer by remote, and you'd first have to send me an invitation) so I'd hope that jpeg image files would suffice.

I can "print" pages of my catalog in PDF if needed.
