How do I find the optimum settings ?

Ok,
my stock shocks were done @ 14,000 miles on the 13 350...
got the new Rancho 9000's on the truck and they are GREAT when unloaded...
have found I had to bump the front up to 3 to control the 'wiggle' in the front end on bumps (plan on new steering stabilizer real soon too)

left the rear on 1 to make it ride like the old 1960's Cadillac
(course the big honking rear sway bar I had added does wonders for sway and cornering)

Now what do I set my shocks to when towing ?
Understand that we did put bags on the rear and have a trailair triglide hitch on the 5er...

before the shocks I put the bags @ 45 psi and the triglide at about 70 psi...

towing the 10 miles from the storage area to the house this weekend handled fine... even hitting the LARGE dips surprisingly didn't bottom out
but packing for our 2000 mile trip in 10 days I wanted to be close to ready for the journey...

so appreciate your insight ....

thanks in advance !

I run mine around 6 or 7 all around. When I first put them on I was towing my camper and it was oscillating on the highway (crappy road). I stopped, turned the shocks up 1 or 2 clicks and left it there.

check to see if you have anti sway bar installed in the rear...if not..I would recommend that more than relying on shocks for wiggles and giggles. Mine was pretty easy to install.

Bingo!

That and I am lazy. LOL

The best suggestion I have is to try it and adjust it until the truck feels right to you. You will know when you have them set right.

The triglide is the combo air and anti-chucking bottom jaw correct?

What do you think of the triglide?

We have just the air, and though it certainly appears to help with up and down, chucking can be pretty bad. Been thinking of a triglide or wait for the new Flex-air pin box to come out.

Sorry, off topic I know.
