2008 F-150 5.4 triton, I drove through a big mud puddle on the road yesterday and immediately the engine shut off. I pulled over put it in park and it and it restarted fine. drove 4 miles to the gas station no problems. Re-started after filling up and stalled out again. It would idle fine until I put it in drive and then it would sputter and stall. Let it sit all day at the gas station and it started and ran great. Any ideas?

 

My first guess would be you got water in the sparkplug holes and it was shorting out the coil packs..
