My 6.0 is a slug when cold, even this time of year

My 6.0 is a slug when cold, but runs fine once the gauges start to move. Sluggish means that when I hit the go peddle the truck ignores it completely for about 5 minutes. Ambient temperature is around 40-45 degrees. I do have an AE and the FICM checks out (when warm). Low voltage 11.5 and 48 KOEO and the low voltage goes up to 13.5 with KOER. Voltage never goes down below 47.5.

My ICP at KOEO is 0, KOER is 580psi, and 2500rpm 1925psi (have seen it much higher at higher rpms under load over 3000psi). My IPR% at KOEO is 15% and never goes above 85% when running.

I do show a p0266 Cylinder 2 Injector circuit contribution, which when I clear the code may not show up for a couple of days. I get no other codes.

Not a problem starting. But I don't remember it being this sluggish on startup (bought it used 5 years ago and have changed the EGR cooler and oil cooler and cleaned the turbo). Oil and fuel filters are fresh. Have not done the blue fuel spring though.

So, any thoughts on where to look next. OR an I expecting too much from my diesel in the morning? This is my third diesel (previous two were 6.9's) so I know that diesels like to be warm (me too) but I think my 6.0 should at least recognize the go peddle. I have been following Skiddy1's thread but I don't think we are having the same problems.

As usual, this site is super. Thanks for the help.

Mine used to be the same way it was a slug even at 80° untell it wormed up I changed the glow plugs and it was a hole new truck. If you spend the 30 minutes pulling the inner finder wells you can change them really easy like spark plugs on a 350 in an old truck

I agree, It also sounds like you may not be running an "inductive heating" FICM strategy.

Change the oil and run some AR9100 in the oil, then run this stuff (full dose)on the fuel side, You can find it at Autozone: Performance Formula® Injector Cleaner « Stanadyne Additives

Between the running the two together, my trucks performance has dramatically improved. I too bought mine used and the PO never really took care of it, the lack of maintenance showed itself with engine performance more than anything. Before, mine took an unusual amount of cranking and would miss while cruising down the highway (felt like I had 7.5 or sometimes 7.25 injectors). I'd also average no more than 13.5-14 mpg, even WITH a tune. After treating with Archoil 9100 and Stanadyne brown label injecor cleaner, my average went up to 16-17 mpg andmy truck starts, runs, and drives as good, if not as better than it did new.

How much archoil do you add per oil change, 8 oz or 16 oz? I think I have the same issue as you, long crank before start, slight miss and best I have got is 13.3 mpg. The 13.3 was prior to me changing the oil for the first time, since I changed it it has went down to 12, 12.5 and seems to run a little ruffer.
