Upper Steering shaft bearing

I was having trouble with my steering having hard spots in it and just found out that I need new upper bearing for the steering shaft, I knew it had play, but i thought it was just loose bolts. After taking off the air bag the shaft screw was tight in place. Now I just need to get a puller to take off the steering wheel and see what I am gonna need. Anybody gone down this road before? I am hoping I can get away with a new bearing and maybe bearing cups, The fun part of the whole thing is I get to go direct to Ford to get these parts!! THX for any input!!

If your just having hard spots when turning the wheel it would be one of the two U joints, lower gets crusty and wears out first and runs a couple hundred + at the Dealer.
