223 to 292 motor swap question
So I have a 1955 f100 with the stock 223 ci straight 6 and a 4syn on the floor. I currently purchased a 292 y block and am going yo swap it out. I was wondering if anyone could tell me of any issues to expect and if the motor will bolt up to my stock tranny and use the same motor mount as the straight 6 ad it appears. Thanks guys. Any into would be great

you will need a y block (292) bellhousing and you will need an additional frame cross member in the front like this one

There are other small items that you will run into.
Lower radiator hose is on the opposite side
Generator is on the opposite side so what I do is lengthen the harness from the regulator and run it across to the other side
Fuel line is an easy fix and when you get there you will see why
exhaust for sure, headers is an easy fix
and the gas pedal linkage is different BUT, if you run a 2100 or 4100 later style carb the 6 cyl linkage fits like a glove!
That's about all there is to it
