Yes....make sure the truck is sitting straight & level (assuming the cab is on the truck), then weld in (or bolt in if you can make that work) bracing to ensure the cab doesn't move, twist & stays in place during the process.

what IMHO you have most to worry about is the twisting of the cab....and cutting the corners is right where the structural integraty is...if the frame of the truck is supported against movement & level/square, then there is much less of an issue and then you would want to support against minor unexpected movement when the corners are cut.
