Another well built rat rod. I'm just glad this thing is over 1400 miles away from me. Chances are pretty good it won't be heading toward me any time soon.

My favorites:

Check out the front "suspension" up close. Not clear how the spring attaches??? Not that the "Z" in the rear is so much better...

Come Ross, he's got it both welded and bolted. That's another one of those "good" rat rod features. Seems like any bozo can cobble a POC together and then hide behind the name "rat rod".

How do you not like a driveshaft turning 3500 rpm under your butt?

Nathan, I didn't even see that!! I thought the local guy here with the driveshaft in a open box between the seat was bad. I don't know which is worse. At least the eBay truck has a driveshaft safety loop, well, at least the hole in the back of the cab might help when the drive shaft lets loose.

Now, please, tell me how safe a rat rod is. Honestly, everyone I've seen I wouldn't want on the road.

Let's just leave off the drums to keep the weight down.

Well, if you aren't going to run juice to the brakes, why bother??!

The wheels and engine are all that's of any value here.

Well for that price, maybe you should go get it.

I love this: "There is NO RUST in the cab except what is shown in the photos in the corners. " Is he talking about the cab corners that are completely missing because of the amount of rust?

Now for a real question, what is that exhaust manifold on the drivers side? That actually doesn't look half bad for running dual exhaust without having to get headers.

It's a Passenger side car exhaust manifold. I saw a couple like that in Branson (Ozark Run) last year. Looks odd but it does give you Duals & gets that Hot crossover pipe outta your way.

That thing is ridiculous, and I'm not saying that because it's a rat rod. I'm saying that because this particular heap is completely unsafe and a danger to society. Would any of you want that thing driving on the same roads that your children or grandchildren travel on? I've said this a million times--if a "vehicle" like that ever hits and kills a few people, no matter how "safe" the owner may think it is, somebody will go to prison. The prosecutor won't even have to say anything, but rather just show a picture of the crap rod to the jury. The arrogant picture of the front hub without a brake drum is enough to prosecute the guy for attempted manslaughter in my opinion. Sorry. Rant over. I agree with Ross--the engine and wheels are the only things of any value there.

I've made this point many times when piles of crap show up. A huge percentage of the general public will look at a "vehicle" like this and only see an old car. They will lump this type of heap in with all old cars and trucks. When one of these abortions are involved in a mishap it will be reported an old car was involved. These "vehicles" give the overall hobby a bad name.

I watched about five minutes of Rebel Road last night. I can't believe people would waste so much time making junk when they could actually be making something nice. I just can't understand trying to do your worst.
