Nifty Radiator set up for 6.0l from Flex-a-Lite

Hey guys i saw this advertisement on FB the other day, thought it was cool. Personally it's way over priced but it's a complete oil/tranny/radiator set up with two 15" fans and it also has a clutch fan emulator so no engine lights come on. The oil cooler can be used as any kind of radiator so you can either make the radiator bigger or the tranny cooler bigger or use it for oil etc. I can see it being useful if you have the $$$ for someone converting a gas SD to a cummins possibly.

Love the "20 lb lighter" benefit on a 8k lb truck.

Lol yeah like 20lb would make a difference, might have to take a few leafs out to keep it from going nose high on you.

Does not flow near as much CFM as the OE fan does. That is why the GCWR is usually reduced with the aftermarket fan setups.

Just using an aftermarket set up can reduce the GCWR? Is it because it will overheat one you get up there in weight being hauled? I thought about going to electric fans if I do a cummins swap to save space between the motor and radiator.

I have seen the posted GCWR limit on the super duty efans years ago but I don't see them listed now despite no cfm or design change. If memory serves me right the max recommended GCWR was 18k lbs but I don't know what temps they had in mind at that rating. This is due to the reduced CFM the efan setup flows.(7.3l 6200cfm, 6.0l 6800cfm) Mark K has said the stock fan will move 20k cfm if need be.

If you don't tow much weight and keep an eye on your temps with real gauges I doubt you will have an issue with an efan.

Here is a old thread. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/5...an-clutch.html

Cool thanks dkf that's a good link, interesting how it reduces the towing capacity too.
