Good find, not a bad price either. Curious what it looks like for brand new being that in Seattle that would be on craigslist used and unknown for around $1000. Sure would be nice for my Super Duty.

 

He is actually the one I bought my 4:30 gears from, He was great to deal with and sells new axle parts as well, My gears were brand new Ford units. I debated changing the whole axle but in the end just bought the gears..Thx for posting this Curt..

 

Why do people not put pictures up, especially when it is very easy to do!

 

Because it isn't easy for everyone, or they are too lazy, or they don't care. Why don't people record everything they do on camera when they fix their trucks like I do?............same reasons.

I bought my axles with 4.88 gears and a locker that are from an '01 EX from a guy in Wisconsin, 816 miles from my home. The 1628 mile round trip was a two day driving date with my beautiful Bride and we used less than 60 gallons of gas, much less than the cost to have them shipped. Local shops wanted $2200 to $2400 to regear both of my axles, so for me $1200 replacements (for both), about $200 in gas and $75 for a room with breakfast included was a good deal. Plus I will have the factory 3.73s available to sell when I finally get the last axle swapped out.
