cooling fan

I changed the thermostat truck was not reaching correct temp and now I noticed in town stop and start delivering the coolant fan kicks on even tho the scanguage 2 only shows 195 degrees . I was wondering if this is normal it shuts off when you reach highway speeds. The spread between eot and get runs between 6 and 8 degrees .Thanks for your reply.

I'd watch this for a while and see what's happening. The fan has several different speeds it settles in at.

Fan Speed Sensor (RPM)

Did you truck some with the snowplow package? Mine did, and the fan seems to come on randomly sometimes, it's like if the truck sees ECT climbing at idle it locks in the clutch and it stays locked in for awhile after you start driving. It randomly kicks on during traffic in the summer even with what I'd call normal ECT, EOT, and TFT.
