Flip kit lowering and c notch

If my truck will lightly used (as a truck), do I have to notch the frame if using a flip kit from DJM?

You don't have to but you really should. Mine isn't notched and I have 1.5" from the axle to the frame bumper. Just driving around town empty, if I hit the bumpers my *** end hops up. I used to not have seat belts in the truck and my head would hit the roof.

DJM doesn't offer a flip kit. They offer a hanger & shackle kit for non-Flexomatic equipped trucks.

Duuude, that makes a HUMONGOUS difference....

A C-notch is not required when using the DJM hanger & shackle kit... It'll do okay doing light duty.

Yeah, got the methods a little mixed up... I want lowered, but don't need to be on the ground. Leaning towards whatever doesn't need a torch and welder. Since I don't have a torch or welder.

$259 for their kit will get ya as far as ya can get without fabrication.

However fer a bit more ya can get a bolt-on axle flip from Chassis Tech or Fatman Fab. Buy a $10 grinder from HF, a coupla cut off wheels and flap discs and yer in business with a full five imches of drop.

If yer gonna be a gear head, the aftermarket's is gonnaa limit your creativity. knowing how to fab n weld opens up a world of possibilities.

Have a grinder, 25gal air compressor and lots of hand tools.
Never had a need for welding so I never learned. I may need to hit up some Arizona Chapter members with the bigger tools for some learning time. Or Craigslist for a 2nd hand welder and make my wife some mothers day presents.

The $259, do you mean these Shackles and shocks?

259 is LMC's list'price for hangers n shackles. Shocks are extra at 60 each.

You can do the same for cheaper by doing a half hanger flip and fabbing yer own shackles with 3/16th plate to replicate their kit.... same difference.
