Has anyone replaced a latch on a rear barn door without replacing the door? The latch has rusted out. I could weld a plate in and mount a new latch but I can not find a new latch. Any thoughts? It is driving me nuts because the door ajar light and interior light stay on briefly after I park.

 

The barn doors are fiberglass. Maybe check junk yards in your area.

 

Quick search showed replacement lock at $50 and striker at $20 from the dealer. Auto parts shop may be cheaper.
