OBD2 Ipad scanner

Any recommendations? I'm looking for something that will give me more than trouble codes.

I have DashCommand. It's good, but it's not awesome. I can't seem to get the Transmission temperature to display, or the Coolant Temp. Same result for EngineLink.

For a diesel, those are 2 very crucial numbers that I can't get.

I'm running Dash Command on my Iphone. Great app that displays alot of info. I have no problem with any of the temps (engine and trans no issues)! I'm using a WiFi dongle. I have about $40 in it not including the phone! I highly recommend it.

Huh. I wonder if I have a bad sensor in my truck then.

Are you getting coolant temperature too?

I use the iTSX from SCT with my iPad 4. It works as a tuner and it can display up to 6 different measurements at a time (and there are about 20 different measurements that you can choose from, and change them whenever you want).

It also can read trouble codes and reset them.

Yep, engine and trans temp. the only thing it doesn`t show me is fuel remaining in tank. no big deal, but it would be nice to know exactly how many gallons remaining! otherwise it all works great!

sonofabitch. I think I have bigger problems than I thought.

Now the question is: am I having problems because of my cheap Chinese WiFi OBDii sensor? Or am I having sensor problems in my truck?

I'm a little scared for the answer...

Don't sweat it. He's a gasser. If I recall correctly, the diesels don't report coolant temp through OBDII, it's straight to gauge.

Trans temp is reportable, but I don't know how to tell you to access it. I have a ScanGauge and had to enter codes to get the trans temp.

Ford/Lincoln/Mercury Specific : Linear Logic : Home of the ScanGauge

scroll down to the diesel section to see what I mean.
