Looking at my 1961 Motor's Manual"
1957 engines were a 312 or a 368 Going by the pic in the manual it's a 57.
1958 engines were: a 312, a 383, or a 430.
The 352, 383, 390, and 430 engines have the combustion chamber in the block, not the head.

She'a a beauty! I always thought the lights above the windshield on the Turnpike Cruiser were a classic feature of this era of Mercurys.

Looking in my 1961 Motor's Manual. 1957 Engines 312 or 368. 1958 engines, 312, 383, or 430.
The grille looks like a 1957

The engine section of the manual shows a cross section of "352.383, 390, and 430" engines as having the combustion chamber in the block, not the head.

Darn, double post for some reason.

I stand corrected. Quad headlights were a mid-year '57 styling change, not only a '58 feature. Stu

Glad you guys enjoyed this! I wish I could have checked it out more, but the driver wouldn't allow me to get under the hood...
