1994 Lightning Fuel Filter Removal Question
Hi Gang,
New to the mix here. I have just recently purchased a 1994 F-150 Lightning (Black). The vehicle is near flawless..so just a few routine maintenance issues are being addressed at present...for my peace of mind mainly
I'm not new to the F-150's..nor the F-100 before it...but a fuel filter change was something I've never performed on an F-150 of any discription before.
I'm confounded about how to remove the fuel lines from the flanges of the Fuel Filter itself. (Purolator brand installed...and the same is going on)
I see how the clips hold the lines to the filter flanges...and had no trouble removing them , I also undertand how the filter is held in it's "Spring Steel" mount. (This is much like other Fords I've owned.)
The only issue is the actual release of the Forward and Aft lines to the filter itself?
Any assistance or coaching you have on this issue will be greatly appreciated.
Regards to all

1994 Lightning Fuel Filter Removal Question
Blown Lightning,
Thanks for the reply. I have never needed a tool to remove a fuel filter before...but then again , this is after all my first one on any form of F-series truck.
I did have a 1993 F-150 XLT Super Cab during the 1993-1995 model years..but my limited usage of the vehicle never really warranted a filter change.
I'll make a run to NAPA later today.
I'm still a bit overwhelmed that a simple in-line filter needs a special tool to remove it....I guess it's just another way to create a market for tools. Nice Job Ford
