Need help for my Diesel

Well, long story short, coming back from Pine and just couple miles out of Payson when my 2006 PowerStroke croaked. Got it to a shop in Payson and looks like I lost injector 2 (cracked tip from what mech says) and now no compression in cyl #2 - I'm thinking piston and/or rings shot as I lost oil.

Trying to gauge my option of pulling motor and rebuilding it (myself) or trying to find a running used motor (or at least bottom end) here in Phx area. Anyone know of resources around here or where I could look for a possible used 6.0 motor??

Thanks for all help!!
Lloyd in Gilbert.

ok - I'm going to rebuild myself. Need a good machine shop resource that knows what they are doing as I'm probably going to have the cylinders bored to .020 (or maybe sleeve just one cylinder. Plus will have to had head work done, magna fluxed, valve seats, milling - you know, the works. Anywhere in the Phoenix area will work. I just want a good shop that knows that they are doing but won't charge an arm and leg for it.

Anyone have resources??

The only diesel mechanic in the Arizona Chapter is Helifixer in Chino Valley. The guys that might be able to help with shops in Phoenix area are Garbz. Bill W in Tucson maybe able to help also. Might pm one of them if nobody responds here.
Sorry I can't help I'm in Bullhead City.

I cannot PM garbz - account is full. I got my head off and it looks OK - just hole in piston and probably need some cylinder wall work, not sure. I really need a shop to look at it.

Sorry can't help you. Might try posting on the 6.0 diesel board. Might find more help & ideas there.

You won't be sorry I sure.
I have a 99 Dodge V10 4x4 QC & I love it.
A buddy has a 6.7 Cummins & loves it.
The Dodge Ram is the truck of the future as far as I'm concerned.
If I had big money to go spend on a new truck, I wouldn't even look at anything other than a Ram.
