E350, 2013, 5.4 v8, 3 spd with od, 16400 miles.

During a recent 500 mile round trip, half way, at slow speed ( less than 25 mph) a message appeared in the information panel and chimed a couple of times. It said something like Advance Trac required service. No other lights came on indicating a problem.

I turn off the TCS, light indicated it was off, Alert stayed on the message center panel. I drove a about 1/2 mile and stopped from gas. When starting up the vehicle, the alert was gone and did not reappear. TCS was back on.

The vehicle was parked for a week. Again started it up and drove the 250 miles at highway speeds, no alarms appeared in any shape or form.

Is this something I need to put in the shop for?

What type of service could be required, routine or failure?

Or do I just monitor it and see what happens?

 

If the alert hasn't returned I'd simply watch and wait---if it pops up again find someone with a code scanner than can read the RSC DTC's properly.

I'm not familiar with that system but have to assume the typical handheld scanners aren't capable of reading RSC codes.
