How bad did I screw up?

Hi guys, my 99 Expedition, 99.5 k miles, 5.4 L, 4x4, no trouble lights on in dash, has a bad engine shake & trouble idling.

After installing a new AC pump and manifold, i mistakenly reconnected two large wires to the top side of the solenoid M stud and not on the battery or B stud. Then started the engine to draw in freon. The blue vac hose blew off (related or not),i heard a winding sound, some burnt electrical odor was detected before shutting down.

What I have done. 1) Starter motor was bad, and replaced. 2). Cleaned throttle body. 3). Cleaned idle air control 4). I checked two idle relays (swapped relays with a wiper same amperage). 5). Checked Fan clutch ? not sure... it moves by hand when cold. 6). Replaced solenoid

The engine now turns over and will run, but shakes bad. Doesn't change with increase in RPM's. It sometime feels like something may be out of balance as well.

My fear is that i fried the computer or sensors. Looking forward to any help you can give.

Sounds like a fried cool or maybe a plug. Hook an OBD2 scanner up and do a KOER test. That is key on engine running. Then scan it anyway.

After hooking up OBD2 scanner, i find that four coils (4,5,6 & 8) and L & R bank #1 -O2 Sensors are in foul trouble.

Using a Chilton's manual, i'm going to meter the wires & connections today.

Thinking out loud here-- by swapping the two cables on the solenoid, may have sent electrical spike from the starter motor, back throughout the system which is causing the trouble? (This truck ran good before).

Your DTC's all showing issues with that many COP's all at one time suggest a wiring issue, perhaps at the COP connectors or the larger engine wiring harness from the PCM.

Lean Bank 1 & Lean Bank 2 are typical indications of a vacuum leak, most probably at the PCV elbow just behind the throttle body.

Since your truck starts and runs the rough idle is probably just a wiring issue as I said---at least I hope so!

Thanks for the replies, What i'v done: metered (KOEO) the connectors to the COP;Results= 12.2v (12.45v @ battery) no reading on the other terminal connector blade---which i presume is a ground signaling wire to the computer (Getting above my pay-grade HERE)

If i have a wiring problem, how would you go about testing resistance in the wire harness? from let say, a connector to what other end; systems? injection and or ignition. How can i test the PTM to take it out of the equation?

Regretfully. i'm considering towing it to the dealer to be diagnosed

Thank you all for your help.
Found the culprit, at the wire loom above the AC accumulator i found a wire connector that was barely pulled apart; i didn't have it fully snapped together after servicing the AC. I discovered it whiten minuets of the tow truck's arrival
