Got my hood stuff in.

... and powdercoated.
And I painted that valve cover I picked from Jim's yard. Ordered all the PCV stuff for it. Should be good to go when that all arrives.
Did I ever show what I did with those taillights? I polished them up with toothpaste. It's a subtle visual improvement on the truck that no one will notice but the lights are brighter now.

Thanks. I was happy with the result. As for the valve cover though, I'm not satisfied with how it came out. I really don't like the paint. For one, the can's nozzle is awkward. I found it more difficult than necessary to maintain an even spray. It turned out more matte than I would have liked and unless you're looking at it with outside light from the sun, it looks very dark. I'll use it temporarily but when I pull my engine I'll blast it again and paint the whole engine properly with a paint gun.

If you're gonna use toothpaste, make sure the lens is wet and your rag is wet or you'll scratch the crap out of it. You're essentially wet sanding with toothpaste as a polishing compound.
