I don't know if I could do a five night stretch. Guess I could but I wouldn't be happy. I worked 4 days about a month ago and I sure felt it. My body and mind are set on a 3 day work week now I think.

And I painted that valve cover I picked from Jim's yard. Ordered all the PCV stuff for it. Should be good to go when that all arrives.

Did I ever show what I did with those taillights? I polished them up with toothpaste. It's a subtle visual improvement on the truck that no one will notice but the lights are brighter now.

Looks good Jackson. Toothpaste is a wonderful thing. I have used it on many things other than my teeth.

Thanks. I was happy with the result. As for the valve cover though, I'm not satisfied with how it came out. I really don't like the paint. For one, the can's nozzle is awkward. I found it more difficult than necessary to maintain an even spray. It turned out more matte than I would have liked and unless you're looking at it with outside light from the sun, it looks very dark. I'll use it temporarily but when I pull my engine I'll blast it again and paint the whole engine properly with a paint gun.

I don't know if you cleared over the valve cover or not but if not it may brighten it up some. It looks ok as is though.

Where did you pick up the hood springs from? Man, those tailight lenses look awesome, I may have to try that!

TruckAndCarShop.com is usually the cheapest source I can find that isn't crap like LMC. The hinges are repro but the latch is NOS. They're based in Orange, CA. Customer communication is in need of improvement but if you call them with an issue the customer service is always happy to help. They don't seem to hate their job either which is a bonus.

If you're gonna use toothpaste, make sure the lens is wet and your rag is wet or you'll scratch the crap out of it. You're essentially wet sanding with toothpaste as a polishing compound.
