48-51 3 speed trans seal

I'm fixing leaks this week and the rear tail shaft seal on my truck is bad. It's the light duty 3 speed on the floor. It's not the original trans and I'm thinking it's from a 48. Napa shows only one seal but says it's for the automatic.

Is this the same seal for all?

Cast number on trans is:
78-7006-C 3 spd L.Duty
Bearing housing:
21C-7085

1949/71 FoMoCo vehicles with 3 M/T O/D / Myriad 1942/80's FoMoCo vehicles with misc 3 & 4 M/T's.

Examples: 1965/71 F100 w/Warner T-85N 3 M/T O/D / 1965/70 Mustang 200/260/289/302 w/Ford type 3.03 3 M/T all syncro trans / 1978/83 Mustang/Fairmont RUG SR-OD 4 M/T O/D.

NAPA should be able to cross any of these Ford part numbers (and the NP number) over to the brands they sell.

Here's an option. I saw on Doc's '49 that his parts guy matched based on dimensions and came up with National Seal 7692S, which has a nice "boot" on it. It keeps dirt out and if your shaft is getting worn, collects leakage, so it doesn't get flung all over the underside of the truck. I believe it is a C-6 part but works great on mine!

Awesome! Yeah I ordered a new oil pan gasket the other day so I won't be getting the seal till it comes in anyway. So no rush, thanks so much

This is D9BZ-7052-A (see post 3). It's not for a C6 (that would be D5AZ-7052-A).
