95 F250 7.3 Long-bed 4x4

I've posted a few questions regarding recent problems with my diesel. I'm a Ford Truck Man but new to diesels and am appreciative of the help offered. Can anyone recommend a safe way to clean my engine? Products to use, what not to do, etc. I've been told to not clean gasoline engines for fear of ruining ignition coils; don't know if the threat is similar with diesels.

Thank you
ET Cooper

Simple green and a hose pipe
Soak, rinse, repeat till clean
Stay away from alternator, IDM and PCM as much as possible

I wouldn't do it after running it a long time. You can heat it up a bit, but there are lots of parts that might not appreciate being really hot and then hit with cold water.
