Fuel smell and popping! Help!
I picked up my 88 F350 from the exhaust shop today. It ran and drove great. I drove it to a friends shop and started to replace the exhaust manifold gaskets with a couple of friends. Ice replaced these before so it was no big deal. I did the passenger side andmy friend did the driver side. I marked the spark plug wires and finished my side. My friends did his side but unbeknownst to me he didn't mark his plug and two of them were criss crossed and one other wasn't even connected. I had the stereo up so I didn't notice it was not running right. I hit the highway and I noticed it had a loss of power. I turned off the radio and immediately pulled over to shut it off. Thankfully I had only driven about 5 miles when this happened. I looked under the hood and saw the plug wire dangling and put them in the right order. It runs better but now it has a fuel smell and it makes a popping sound if you press the throttle very quickly.
Whats going on and how do I fix it?

What do you mean it "runs better"? Does it run like it should, or still runs like crap but not as bad as before?
You sure you didn't burn/melt one of the plug wires that was left hanging?
If it smells like fuel and is running rich, pull the plugs and look at each one, the cylinders that are running rich will have their plugs covered in soot. If they are wet with gas, then that cylinder ain't firing at all.
Each plug should be a light tan color with no deposits (crusty crap) if the engine is running right.
