Sometimes Harbor Freight doesn't suck
They sell a "Pulley Spinning Tool" part #66385 ($8.99) that holds the pulley real nice when loosening the fan nut. I've used it successfully on several engines now. Sure you can "borrow" the tools from Autozone but nothing beats having it in your tool collection, especially when you're in a pickle. And who can't afford $8.99?
As for the big nut, if you don't have a wrench to fit it one of their big adjustable wrenches does the trick, $14.99 to $19.99.
